We have had wonderful speakers all year. A different person volunteered every month to be in charge of speakers… and it was a very good year for speakers. Each speaker had a book given in their name to the Bixby Public Schools. This amounts to over 50 books per year going to the schools.
We had wonderful Table Greeters all year and we appreciate all that stepped up to the plate.
We want to thank all of Ericka’s “Quote – UnQuote” Volunteers for their praying, pledging and singing talents each week.

SOCIAL SUCCESS!!!!!! It was a beautiful sunny afternoon with a few white fluffy clouds wistfully floating by as I neared 11th and Harvard. The smell of hot dogs, burgers, booze, brats and burning charcoal floated by in the breeze. The view as I entered Skelly Stadium was magnificent. There were over 35 Bixby Rotarians and Family members attending our first social as T.U. took on Navy.

Shop With a Cop was a new adventure this past December chaired by Kay Davis This program is designed to pick out at-risk kids in Bixby and have them shop with a Bixby Police officer and a Rotarian at the Wal-Mart store. The program provides a Christmas to kids and their family that would not have a meaningful Christmas otherwise, and it begins to build a relationship and communication link between these kids and the police department.
The Rotary Club of Bixby has sponsored the Bixby Christmas Parade since 2002. This includes the organization, lining up of floats, picking a Grand Marshal, etc.

Rotary Club of Bixby Amphitheater. This was a 3-year project and was the The Bixby Rotary Club’s Centennial project. It was a public-private joint venture between the City of Bixby and our not-for-profit foundation the Rotary Club of Bixby Fund. A $200,000+ amphitheater was built using $104,000 Rotary money and matching monies of $88,000 from the City of Bixby Council. Rotary was the Project Coordinator and we worked with General Contractor and local builder, Tim Remy, to build the project. Ground breaking ceremonies were held on July 15, 2004 and the Amphitheater was dedicated on February 23, 2005, the 100th year anniversary day of Rotary International.
We sponsored 2 Bixby High School juniors to go to the RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) this year. This is a Rotary District program where junior class leaders are able to meet and compete with other junior class leaders from school systems in the 4-corners of AR, KS, MO, and OK.
