Chip Seay, 2005-2006 President

We continued the programs that have become regular club events for the club:
  • Bixby Christmas Parade
  • Dictionaries for every third grader in Bixby, Leonard, Liberty and Mounds school districts
  • Shop with a Cop
  • BBQ and Blues Festival (raised $62K this year, a new record)
  • Salvation Army Bell Ringing
  • Hosted a 4 Way Test Speech contest
  • Sent 2 students to RYLA camp
We hosted a Foreign Exchange Student, Jenny Valderama from Columbia.
We put an organized budget into place.
We set aside 10% of the proceeds from the BBQ and Blues Festival into our Foundation Account.
Set up two scholarships for Bixby High School students worth a total of $5K.
Added 32 New members with a net growth of 17.
We set aside $30K to help Bixby Area Neighbors care for the needs of people in the Bixby area.
We sent a shipment of Medical Supplies to Uganda.
We helped the Placencia Rotary Club in Belize provide dictionaries to their school students.
We moved meeting locations, to Cedar Ridge Country Club.
We gave the Liberty Fire Department $600 to buy smoke alarms for people who needed them.
We helped to set up a computer lab to train students with job skills in Kathmandu Nepal.
We donated $1K to Medical Supplies Network to pay for the cost of shipping medical supply containers.
We helped send Bixby Honor Students to Washington D.C. for a meeting.
We did an Up with Trees project at 151st street and Yale Ave.
